Mali: WHO Says Two Suspected Ebola Cases in Mali, 57 Contacts Sought

31 OCTOBER 2014

Geneva — World Health Organisation and U.S. Centers for Disease Control suspect that two people have Ebola disease after coming into contact with two-year old girl who died of it in Mali last week.

An epidemiological presentation by both agencies in Geneva on Friday breaks down the girl's journey from Guinea to Mali with her grandmother, five-year old sister and uncle, and showed she may have had contact with 141 people.
The agencies noted that 57 of them were yet to be identified. They said one of the 84 contacts who had so far been traced, was suspected of having Ebola but had not been tested. [link to allafrica.com]
