Four districts in Bali bird flu positive

*Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Bali, Putu Sumantra, said four counties on the island tested positive for the bird flu virus that attacks the ducks.

"The case of bird flu in ducks first note on December 26, 2012. Earliest found in Buleleng, then in Klungkung, Tabanan and Bangli. Meanwhile Abiansemal case, Badung regency, still in the laboratory process," he said, in Denpasar on Monday.

In Bangli, he said, cases of bird flu found in chickens. Therefore, it has asked the public to immediately report to the clerk if there are cases of death of ducks and chickens.

"We to this day do not know what type of bird flu in Bali are the same as in Java," he said.

What is clear, he added, was 2400 ducks in the four districts were dead and 1,500 ducks being culled due to bird flu affected areas.

Related to the status of what Bali has included being plagued, he said, has yet to gain information such as determination of the outbreak by the rules of laws and later presented the minister of agriculture.
