Health authorities in central China's Hunan Province today confirmed the province's first human case of H7N9 avian influenza.

The patient is identified as a 64-year-old female local resident, surnamed Guan. The woman, living in Shaoyang City, went to hospital for flu symptoms on April 19 and is now confirmed to have been infected with H7N9 virus.

The provincial authority also reported that another H7N9 patient was discovered inside the province. The 54-year-old non-local man, surnamed Jiao, had come from Tonggu County, east China's Jiangxi Province.

Both the patients are currently being treated in the same designated public hospital in Changsha City, the provincial capital.

Jiangxi Province has so far confirmed two human cases of H7N9 avian influenza. Both patients are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, six H7N9 patients today were discharged from a hospital in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, after making full recovery, according to Xinhua News Agency. http://www.shanghaidaily.com/nsp/National/2013/04/27/Central%2BChinas%2BHunan%2BProvince%2Breports%2Bits%2Bfirst%2BH7N9%2Bcase/
