Walker unconcerned amid bird flu outbreak in China

April 15, 2013, 11:57 am
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker is dismissing concerns about the latest bird flu outbreak in China, where is currently leading a trade mission.
Walker said Monday concerns over bird flu will not cause him to change any of his travel plans in the country or lead to him cancel the trip early.
A rare type of bird flu has been sweeping through eastern China in recent weeks. There were 63 confirmed cases and 14 deaths as of Monday.
Walker arrived in China Friday for a 10-day trade mission with government and business leaders.
Walker says the delegation took precautions before departing and Chinese health officials have been helping.
Wisconsin health officials are warning anyone traveling to China to be examined if they show symptoms of the flu upon their return. http://www.necn.com/04/15/13/Walker-unconcerned-amid-bird-flu-outbrea/landing_nation.html?&apID=c6503f57b6f24607afdaa1e4a1caa523
