KAILALI: A bird flu outbreak has been detected in Gadariya VDC of Kailali on Wednesday.
Dr Binaya Kumar Karna of District Veterinary Office has confirmed bird flu in a poultry farm of Deep Lal Chaudhari in Samchaura, Gadariya VDC.
Earlier Chaudhari had sent dead chickens to District Veterinary Office on suspicion of bird flu virus and after some experiments, the dead chickens tested positive for bird flu (H5N1).
Later, Central Animal Disease Research Laboratory confirmed the bird flu virus.

Dr Karna said that as many as 400 chickens and fowls were slaughtered following an outbreak of the bird flu virus in the district.
